The Group has been in existence since 1921. Members are from Papplewick, Linby, Hucknall and other local surrounding areas.
The annual subscription at present is £12.00 payable in January and members pay £2.00 per session attendance—this is for the admission fee plus raffle prizes.
The Ladies Group meet fortnightly on a Tuesday, from the last week in September to the end of May the following year.
At the A.G.M. each February, suggestions are put forward for future speakers and it is decided at that meeting as to who will be the chosen local Charity for that year.
A variety of speakers are organised for each session and the Group also holds a Social Afternoon as well as a Bring and Buy Sale to raise funds.
An Easter Tea Party and Christmas Lunch are also arranged for members.
The Annual Carol Service, is held in St James Church, Papplewick during the second week of December. Representatives from the chosen Charity attend this service and the money collected at that time is presented to them.
